CNBC reports that Meta is planning a standalone AI assistant app called Meta AI to better compete with OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google's Gemini. The app is expected to launch in the company's next fiscal quarter, between April and June 2025. Currently, Meta AI is only accessible through the company website and Meta's social media apps like Facebook and WhatsApp.

Google appears to be developing an upgraded version called 'Bard Advanced', which users will need a paid Google One subscription to access. Bard Advanced seems to be powered by Google's newly launched large language model (Gemini Ultra), offering enhanced features compared to the current version of Bard (Gemini Pro). In addition to the upgraded Bard, some new functionalities have been discovered, such as creating custom bots and utilizing AI extensions.
